Fees and Insurance Reimbursement

Aetna Insurance

I am an in-network provider with Aetna. Most plans cover multiple visits. Call Aetna to verify your lactation benefits.

Self-pay clients

At this time, reimbursement for lactation services varies by health insurance carrier and plan.

Payment for lactation services is out-of-pocket and you will be given a form to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement upon request.

If you would like to be reimbursed for lactation services by your health insurance company:

  • Contact your insurance company to find out if out-of-network lactation services are covered by your plan, and if so, what is the reimbursement rate.

If your health insurance plan does not cover lactation services:

  • Let your insurance company know the importance of this service to you.  As consumer demand for lactation services increases, the insurance companies will have to provide this service or risk losing your business.

  • If you have employer-based health insurance, speak to your employer about adding lactation services to their benefits package.
