Home visits

​

-Prenatal Assessment & Education

  • Reviews positioning and latching on, how to know if baby is getting enough milk, what to expect first few weeks after birth (60min)

  • Aetna plans often cover a prenatal session

​

-Postpartum Support

 

  • A home visit usually lasts 1.5-2 hours. 

 

  • We will discuss your birth & health history, infant feeding and diaper output, and any questions/concerns that you may have about infant feeding.

 

  • I will do a detailed oral assessment of your baby and observe a feeding and/or pumping.  Hands on assistance may be used in positioning and latching with your consent.

 

  • A scale may be used for infant weights before and after the feeding.

 

  • We will develop a plan, and you will receive a written copy of notes from the visit and a report for your pediatrician.
